locating a discount code in roster is a quick and efficient process, allowing you to trace a discount code to its rule, assigned ambassador, or orders where it was used this is especially helpful for resolving order issues or verifying code usage below is a step by step guide on how to locate discount codes in your roster account and in shopify video walkthrough video transcript this is a transcript from the loom video walkthrough 0 00 hey, this is geoff at roster in this video, i want to show you how you can quickly find where a discount code exists within your roster account 0 09 let's say, for example, an order you're looking into has a discount that has been applied to it, and you suspect maybe this discount code came from somewhere within your roster account, but you're not quite sure where it is 0 21 it's really simple to find out, so you'll just want to copy that copy that code to your clipboard, and then in the left hand navigation, click on more, and then select discounts, and from here, there's a search box 0 32 all we want to do is just paste that discount code into the search box, and it will quickly filter down to the discount rule to where that code exists 0 40 if there are no results at all, like if i type in an extra character here, that just means that roster doesn't have any reference to this particular discount code 0 48 but in this case, it does, and i simply just need to select the discount rule, and then to find it, i just paste it one more time, and now i see the ambassador to whom it's assigned, and i can see that it has one use on it 1 03 so, if i want to find the order in roster, for whatever reason, i can click on the reports in the left navigation, then select all orders, and from here, i can open up the discount code filter, and paste in that code, and then it will try to find the order in which that discount code was used 1 20 if it doesn't find any results, like if i type an extra character, then you'll see that there aren't any orders in roster where that discount code was used 1 28 but in this case, that code was used on an order, and i can click that open and see some additional information about it 1 34 i can see the order of the order number, which if your shopify will link back to and open up the order in your shopify portal, i can see that that discount code was in fact used right there, and then if there was any attribution or referral rewards, i'll see that information as well 1 50 so that's pretty much it it's really simple to find where a discount code exists and to find out additional information about that code 1 57 now, let's say, for example, you have a code and you want to add it and you that code in your shopify store, uhm, sorry, if you're non shopify, there's probably a way to do this too, but from a shopify perspective, what you can do is, uhm, well, you'll actually potentially have some frustration because 2 15 when you come to the discounts page in your shopify admin and you open up the search field and you paste in a code that you know was used, thank you 2 24 uh, any of the codes that are from roster, you're going to likely encounter no discounts found and that is because, unfortunately, shopify only does a search at this top level right here at these top level codes 2 38 and because roster creates, uh, redeem codes within a top level code, like this one right here has six codes associated to it 2 47 um, this one right here here has 25 codes it's not searchable so it can be very frustrating to understand like a lot of times brands will say, hey, this code doesn't even exist in my store 3 01 so what we recommend doing is coming into your roster account and go into our discounts page and doing the search there, finding the discount rule 3 10 so now i know that it's within this discount rule and i can click this view and shopify link, and it will open up to that discount rule specifically 3 19 and then i can click view all codes and now i can paste in my code and it will find that that code exists with inside of this top level discount code in shopify 3 33 so hopefully that helps you understand how you can find codes in roster step by step instructions search for the discount code in roster copy the discount code you want to locate to your clipboard navigate to more > discounts in the left hand navigation menu paste the discount code into the search box at the top of the discounts page if the code exists in roster, it will display the relevant discount rule if no results appear, the code does not exist in roster select the discount rule to open it paste the code again in the search field within the rule to locate the assigned ambassador and additional details, such as usage count locate orders associated with the discount code navigate to reports > all orders in the left hand navigation menu open the discount code filter and paste the discount code if the code was used, the associated order(s) will appear if no orders are found, the code has not been used in any order select an order to view detailed information, including order details attribution (if applicable) referral rewards (if applicable) locate the discount code in shopify in roster, go to the discounts page and search for the code to find the associated discount rule click view in shopify to open the discount rule in your shopify admin in shopify, click view all codes within the discount rule to see all associated codes use the search field within the discount rule to locate the specific code note shopify’s top level search may not find individual redeem codes created within a rule searching within the rule ensures accuracy understand common issues with code searches in shopify shopify’s main search only checks top level discount rules and not individual codes created within those rules always use roster’s discounts page to identify the discount rule and then navigate to shopify using the view in shopify link from the
