filtering contacts and managing their display can significantly enhance your experience in roster's brand portal this guide will show you how to apply filters to view specific groups of contacts, add additional information by customizing columns, and perform various actions using the selection dropdown these steps will help you effectively manage and interact with your brand's ambassadors, allowing for better organization and communication video walkthrough video transcript this is a transcript from the loom video walkthrough \[00 00] hi everyone, this is caroline with roster, and in this video, i'm going to walk you through how to filter your contacts, how to create more columns, and also the action, or the selection drop down section \[00 14] okay, so, first things first, if we want to filter, we can go to a specific program, so selecting this drop down option to the left \[00 24] of the search bar, or the right of the search bar, excuse me, uh, so let's say we want to filter by our ambassadors, and then these are the different filters that we have, they are split up into sections, so we have our most used, these are what other brands use the most, contacts, brand engagement, \[00 38] campaigns, referral tracking, social, and then any custom, so for example, if you created a custom property, and you want to be able to filter by that, it would show up here, uhm, if you do create one, and you don't notice it right away, i definitely recommend refreshing your screen, or logging in and \[00 54] out, and then it should show up okay, so, let's just say for today, i want to see who has never logged into the portal, so i can select the last portal access date option, and then i'm going to do no last portal access date, so these are all my ambassadors that have never logged in, it's a large number \[01 13] , uhm, and, so, i can save this filter set, if i would like, uhm, and if i do, i can name it something, so i can say never logged in, or like, mia, and you can save it as a default filter, or you can even share it with others, so if we click saved, then it's going to show up in our saved filter section \[01 35] columns, so if we want to turn on any of these other columns to show up, uhm, maybe we want to see, like, application date, for example, we can select the column section right to the, to the right of the saved filters, and when we click on that, uhm, we can turn on any of these options, so i clicked \[01 53] on application date, and then, as we can see, application date will show up here, uhm, none of my people are going to have an application date, unfortunately, since they're fake contacts, uh, you can also sort if, as well, so if you want to sort by, like, total followers, instagram followers, mention \[02 10] count, or any of the other columns you add, you can do it by ascending or descending okay, lastly, we have the, uh, drop down, so, let's say we select our email address, ambassadors, and then we do the no last portal access date, and we want to contact these ambassadors \[02 31] so what we can do is we can select this little, this little box to the left of the name column, and when we click that, it's going to select everyone that we want \[02 40] then we can select the actions drop down to the right of that little square, and we'll you'll see we have the option to send them an email \[02 48] add to program, remove from program, add to campaign, assign a contact owner, edit properties, add tags, remove tags, and export contacts \[02 59] so if we want to send an email, we can select that option here we can add a subject, and then anything else we want \[03 04] if we want to add them to a program, it will remove them from the ambassadors program, and then add them to a different program \[03 11] or if we want to tap we'll just want to make sure we have the tag already created, and then from there we can tag them, um, with that specific contact tag \[03 19] okay, uh, hopefully that was helpful if you need, have any questions, you can reach out to support at getroster com, or you can contact your csm \[03 28] thank you step by step instructions filter contacts by specific criteria
