Import discount codes

There are several ways to import discount codes into Roster, depending on the context and need. The biggest distinctions to consider are Shopify-linked vs. manual discount rules, assigned vs. unassigned codes, and shareable vs. reward discount rules. The following section describes

For discount rules linked to a top-level discount code in Shopify, you can import discount codes in Roster that you want to assign to specific ambassadors.

Import assigned shareable codes when you are migrating to Roster from another ambassador / creator platform and you want to ensure that ambassadors' existing shareable discount codes are assigned to and visible to your ambassadors in Roster.

Import assigned reward codes when you are migrating to Roster from another ambassador / creator platform and you want to ensure that ambassadors' existing reward and/or personal discount codes are assigned to and visible to your ambassadors in Roster.

Importing unassigned codes is only available for manual discount rules and not Shopify-linked discount rules. Therefore, this feature is primarily useful for non-Shopify brands, although there might be scenarios where Shopify brands need to use manual discount ---rules for unique scenarios.

For discount rules not linked to a discount code in Shopify (which includes all discount rules for brands not using Shopify), you can import both assigned and unassigned codes for different use cases.

Import assigned shareable codes when you are migrating to Roster from another ambassador / creator platform and you want to ensure that ambassadors' existing shareable discount codes are assigned to and visible to your ambassadors in Roster.

Import assigned reward codes when you are migrating to Roster from another ambassador / creator platform and you want to ensure that ambassadors' existing reward and/or personal discount codes are assigned to and visible to your ambassadors in Roster.

Import unassigned shareable codes when using a manual shareable discount rule but you want ambassadors to be able to get a shareable code that you have previously created in your e-commerce platform and have imported into Roster.

Import unassigned reward codes when using a manual reward discount rule but you want Roster to automatically assign a code to an ambassador based on pre-defined triggers, such as assigning a personal discount code when an ambassador is added to a program, or allocating a discount code when an ambassador completes a campaign.
