adding hidden products to a product reward in roster allows ambassadors to redeem exclusive or pre release products that are not visible to the general public in your shopify store this feature is useful for product launches, ambassador only items, or limited time rewards by managing hidden products properly, brands can offer special perks to ambassadors while keeping certain products private video walkthrough video transcript this is a transcript from the loom video walkthrough 0 00 hey there, this is jeff at roster in this video i'm going to show you how you can add hidden products within your shopify store to a product reward that will allow ambassadors to redeem them, but without allowing the general public to see that those products exist on your store 0 17 this is really helpful if you have, uhm, pre release products that you want to make available, maybe for an upcoming product launch, or you have, uhm, have ambassador specific products that you want them to be able to shop from that you don't want those to be purchased by the general public 0 31 so it's really straightforward to do um, to start with, i'm in my shopify store here, and i have this product that i've called the hidden snowboard 0 39 and the way that you typically hide these from, um, being visible is you would remove them from the sales channels 0 47 so in this case i have remove them from the online store in particular but also from all the other stores that i ha excuse me, storefronts that i have 0 55 so those are all now umm, this product is hidden from all those storefronts so nobody would actually see this product 1 03 if they were to go to my store they couldn't search for it they couldn't get a direct link to it 1 07 but in roster we do allow you to pull in hidden products so so let's go ahead and take a little bit for a look at this campaign 1 13 this has a product reward for when people join the campaign and let's click edit,and we'll go into next product group 1 where i have it and i'm gonna move this a little bit i don't think that i've oh, i already have added it 1 26 okay so it's showing up right here, the hidden snowboard um, it's showing up and an ambassador would be able to, select that as their reward 1 39 and check, complete the checkout process so you'll want to test that out on your own if you have any special logic in your store dealing with products that are essentially hidden 1 49 you'll also make sure that there is inventory for that product in your store so that something that roster will allow it to be added to an order unless you've indicated in your shopify product settings that this product can be, um, per purchased without the inventory being in stock 2 03 so just make sure it's working as expected and you should be good to go so, if you have any other questions about product rewards, let us know 2 12 in the meantime, have a great day thanks step by step instructions hide a product in shopify log into your shopify admin panel navigate to products in the left hand menu select the product you want to hide in the publishing card, select manage sales channels from the menu remove the product from all visible channels (e g , online store ) save the changes to ensure the product is hidden from public view add the hidden product to a product reward in roster navigate to campaigns or milestones in the left hand navigation menu select the campaign or milestone where the product reward is configured click edit to modify the campaign or milestone scroll down to the rewards section and click edit reward in the product group section, click add product search for the hidden product by name select the product and click add click save to finalize the reward ambassador experience ambassadors who qualify for the reward will see the hidden product available for selection they can complete the checkout process within roster roster will generate the order in shopify, even though the product remains hidden from the public store verify inventory and order processing ensure the hidden product has inventory available in shopify test the redemption process to confirm the product is correctly added to the ambassador’s order fulfill the order in shopify as usual need help? if you have any questions about adding hidden products to product rewards, contact us at support\@getroster com mailto\ support\@getroster com
