in this guide, we'll walk through the process of importing a batch of shareable codes that have already been assigned to ambassadors prior to migrating to roster this feature is ideal for brands transitioning from another platform and wanting to retain existing code assignments there are a separate set of steps for both shopify and non shopify brands video walkthrough (shopify) step by step instructions (shopify) these steps assume you have already created a shareable discount code in the program's referrals settings connected your shopify store to roster prepared a csv file with the assigned codes prepare your csv file create a csv file with the following columns email the email address of the ambassador code the shareable code assigned to the ambassador populate the file with data for each ambassador save the file in csv format example email,code vanessa andrews\@example com,vanessa15 matthew\ leonard\@example com,matthew15 or download this sample csv file navigate to the discount rule go to the discounts section in your roster admin panel select the discount rule associated with your shareable discount code import assigned codes click on more actions > import within the selected discount rule upload the prepared csv file review the notification confirming the number of codes to be imported click import to complete the process roster will sync the codes with shopify, creating or relocating them under the top level discount code in your shopify admin this step may take several minutes depending on the number of codes being imported verify code assignment in roster the list of assigned codes will refresh to show the newly assigned codes depending on how many assigned codes you imported, it might take several minutes for each code to show up in the list of assigned codes navigate to an ambassador’s profile to confirm their code was successfully assigned open the ambassador’s profile in the contacts section go to the discounts and links section verify that the correct code is listed under the assigned codes verify codes in shopify in roster, click details > view in shopify from the discount rule details page this will open a new tab to the discount code in your shopify admin click view codes to view all of the redeem codes that exist within this top level discount code in shopify video walkthrough (non shopify) step by step instructions (non shopify) these steps assume you have already imported your ambassadors into roster, and have existing discount codes that you need to import into roster prepare your csv file create a csv file with the following columns email the email address of the ambassador code the shareable code assigned to the ambassador populate the file with data for each ambassador save the file in csv format example email,code vanessa andrews\@example com,vanessa15 matthew\ leonard\@example com,matthew15 or download this sample csv file navigate to the discount rule go to the discounts section in your roster account select the discount rule to which you want to upload the assigned codes import assigned codes click on more actions > import within the selected discount rule then select import unassigned codes from the dialog review the preview, which will indicate the number of codes being imported click import to complete the process verify code assignment the list of assigned codes will refresh to show the newly assigned codes depending on how many assigned codes you imported, it might take several minutes for each code to show up in the list of assigned codes navigate to an ambassador’s profile to confirm their code was successfully assigned open the ambassador’s profile in the contacts section go to the discounts and links section verify that the correct code is listed under the assigned codes need help? if you have any questions about importing assigned shareable codes or managing discount rules, contact our customer success team at mailto\ cs\@getroster com we're here to help!
