meta posts why aren't some instagram tagged posts showing up in the social feed? there are a few reasons why instagram tagged posts might not appear in your roster account tagged media visibility on instagram roster can only access and pull in tagged media that appears under your brand's "tagged" tab on your instagram profile if a post is not visible there, roster cannot retrieve it, even if your brand is tagged in the photo or reel instagram tag settings and sorting your brand’s instagram settings for tagged media may limit which posts appear on your tagged page if the settings are filtered by a custom date range, specific authors, or if posts require approval, some tagged posts may not display—and therefore, will not be accessible to roster to ensure roster can pull in all posts, review your instagram settings and confirm that tagged media is set to appear newest to oldest and is not filtered or hidden where the tag occurs if your brand is tagged in the image or video but not in the caption, those posts might not always be captured depending on instagram’s api limitations and your account settings are likes and/or comments available for posts where the ambassador has hidden the likes and/or comments? no, if an ambassador has their likes and comments set to private or hidden on their social media posts, roster cannot pull in that information automatically roster can only display metrics like likes and comments if those stats are publicly visible on the ambassador's profile or post however, if the ambassador has connected their social profile directly to roster, then roster is able to access and import likes and comments data, even if those metrics are not publicly visible so, profile connection is required for roster to retrieve hidden engagement metrics what should my brand do to maximize the tagged posts that roster can pull in? regularly review your brand’s instagram tagged media settings to ensure that all tags are visible on your profile’s tagged tab consider setting tagged media to display all posts, sorted by newest first, and avoid restrictive filters (such as by date range or specific users) optionally, manually review and approve any tagged posts so they appear on your profile—roster will only see what’s visible under your tagged tab by following these steps, you can ensure that roster’s social listening captures the full range of content tagged by your community on instagram when does roster pull in facebook posts from an ambassador’s personal feed? roster can only pull in facebook posts from ambassador's personal feed when the following conditions are met the ambassador @mentions the brand's facebook page correctly when they publish their post if they forgot or mention the wrong page and then edit their post, facebook doesn't notify roster of the post the brand has their facebook account connected in roster at the time of the ambassador's post and the connection isn't expired if it's not connected or is expired, facebook won't notify roster of the post instagram metric discrepancies why are the views, likes, and comments in roster lower than what i see on the instagram app for the same post? the numbers in roster come straight from instagram's official api — they are the only numbers instagram makes available to third party tools like us what you see inside the instagram app is often a combined number that rolls in activity instagram doesn't share through the api, for two main reasons • cross posting to facebook if your ambassador (or you, via whitelisting) also published the reel to facebook, instagram now shows the combined instagram + facebook views and engagement on the post in app those facebook side numbers are not returned by the instagram api in most cases, so roster shows the instagram portion only • boosted / whitelisted posts once a post is promoted as an ad, the paid views, likes, and comments are tracked on the ad side, not the organic post the instagram api only returns organic engagement, so roster will show a smaller number than the app, which blends the two this is a platform limitation across all roster customers, not something specific to your account my ambassador's creator insights show 1m views, but roster shows 20k which one is right? both are correct — they're just measuring different things • creator insights in the instagram app are the "everywhere" number organic views on instagram + views on facebook (if the reel was cross posted) + views driven by any paid promotion or whitelisting • roster shows what instagram returns through their official api, which is the organic instagram only slice meta has started exposing the cross platform number in a newer api, but only when the ambassador connects their account through facebook rather than through instagram directly if they signed in with instagram (most ambassadors do), the combined number isn't available to us a large gap between the two almost always means the reel was either cross posted to facebook , boosted as an ad , or whitelisted by your brand — often all three for high performing content is there anything i can do to close the gap and see the full numbers in roster? partially, yes — but some of it is outside our control • ask ambassadors to reconnect via facebook login (instead of instagram login) when linking their account this unlocks meta's newer cross platform endpoints so roster can pull combined instagram + facebook metrics for cross posted reels • for whitelisted/boosted content , the paid engagement will continue to live on the ad side and won't appear on the organic post via the api — that's a meta limitation that applies to every analytics tool, not just roster • if a specific post matters for reporting, the ambassador's own creator insights screenshot is the most complete view, and emv/reporting in roster can be paired with that as context downloading images and videos why can i download some content in the social feed in roster, but not other content? the ability to download content directly from the social feed in roster depends on several factors supported content types you can generally download instagram posts and reels, facebook posts and reels, tiktok thumbnails, and x (twitter) posts if the ambassador's account is verified and the content has been successfully pulled into roster while we don't currently show instagram stories in the social feed, we do let brands download the image we show for stories when viewing a story card on the contact details page, campaigns pages, and action overview network and privacy limits some content may be marked as unavailable by the network, particularly if it includes copyrighted or licensed audio, or if the platform's privacy rules do not allow third party downloading this is most common with videos containing licensed audio tracks and with instagram stories, which are subject to strict privacy controls if you see the download icon on a post in the social feed, you can save that content to your device if the icon isn’t present, that specific post is not available for download due to the reasons above can i download all images from an instagram carousel post? no, at this time roster does not support downloading all photos from an instagram carousel post at once through the social feed if you want to download all images from a carousel post, you will need to do so manually outside of roster this feature is on roster's product roadmap, but is not currently available what content is usually not available for download in roster? content not available for download typically includes tiktok videos posts that contain copyrighted or licensed audio, as flagged by the social network content inherently restricted by network privacy settings or api limitations why can't i download tiktok videos from roster? tiktok doesn’t allow third party apps to download full video files through its api roster can only access tiktok’s metadata, like video titles, captions, and thumbnails, so creator content stays protected and in line with tiktok’s platform policies however, tiktok does allow for content to be downloadable through the app itself
