building a comprehensive campaign brief in roster is a crucial step in effectively engaging your ambassadors this step involves creating clear and detailed information about your campaign that is visible to ambassadors, ensuring consistency with your brand's tone and messaging the campaign brief includes elements such as campaign overview, sharing links, customizable properties, requirements, rewards, style guides, and terms and conditions this document will guide you through crafting each part of the campaign brief to align with your campaign goals and brand identity video walkthrough video transcript this is a transcript from the loom video walkthrough \[00 00] hi everyone, this is caroline with roster, and in this video i'm going to walk you through the step two of building out your campaign, the campaign brief \[00 10] okay, so, different from step one, everything in step two is going to be available and visible to your ambassadors so, whatever you name the campaign title here, your ambassadors are going to see \[00 24] the campaign overview, campaign overview is mostly built out for you if you use one of our templates, but we always recommend coming in, changing it, making sure it fits your campaign tone, or excuse me, your brand tone, uhm, and your messaging as well, so it doesn't feel super generic \[00 41] it feels like it's coming from you as a brand we usually include, like, immediate perks, any expectations of ambassadors, and then how to actually join and complete the campaign below \[00 52] then, under that, we have link you want participants to share so, if you don't have smart links turned on, you can utilize this feature \[00 59] uhm, you can include, if it's, like, a product launch campaign, or if there's a specific link you want, uhm, ambassadors to share, it will create a campaign specific link for them \[01 09] uhm, we are building this out with smart links it's just not available right now if you, uh, want to have a specialized discount code for your ambassadors for this specific campaign, you can do that \[01 22] uhm, we see that happen a lot of the times if you're doing an ambassador specific sale, or maybe you have a sale going on and you want to give your ambassadors a little more, uhm, you can just create the shareable code here \[01 33] uh, as a reminder, if you do not have shopify, you will need to manually import those codes and we do have a help article walking you through how to do that \[01 40] uhm, or you can use any, their existing shareable code as well next, we have the header image if you use a majority of our templates, we should have a header image already \[01 50] uhm, otherwise you can choose any header image you would like this can be a marketing image this could be your logo \[01 56] it just needs to be between 1200 and 600 pixels thank you for next up, we have custom properties so custom properties are different questions \[02 05] you can ask or have your ambassador fill out uhm, they do have to do this before they can actually even start the campaign \[02 12] so as soon as they click join, these custom properties will pop up uh, one thing to know is you cannot build the properties in the campaign \[02 19] if you want to add more properties, you will have to click this manage properties and it will take you to that section of your roster portal \[02 27] uhm, if you already have built out the custom property, then you can add these properties here very common ones are maybe you want to know like their t shirt size or, uhm, any additional questions you might want to ask before they start the campaign \[02 40] okay, campaign requirements this is what we want them to actually complete in order to, uhm, earn whatever the reward is for the campaign \[02 49] so we have all of these different social options here instagram post, instagram story, instagram reel, facebook post, facebook story, facebook reel, tiktok, twitter post, uhm, upload an image, upload a video, a web link, or you can actually do a shared discount code \[03 07] if you have leak proof codes, this currently does not work with leak proof codes it needs to be a shared shareable discount code, uhm, but if you choose this one, then you can select the existing shareable code and then you can say how many orders you would like them to get in order to complete this \[03 23] campaign if you choose any of our social posts, so let's say we want to do an instagram post, it will pull in that handle for, uhm, that specific social media, and then you will have to create a unique campaign hashtag \[03 36] the hashtag is super important because this is what allows us to pull in the post from that social media platform \[03 44] uh, it doesn't have to be anything super specific you could use the hashtag valentine's day for this campaign you could use the hashtag whatever your, uhm, at mention is, that kind of thing \[03 55] if you want to provide any additional instructions, like reminding them to include their code in the caption, or reminding their followers that their link is in their bio, you can add that here \[04 05] when you're going through the campaign requirements, you probably noticed this add option and add activity add option means either or, so they can do an instagram post or an instagram reel \[04 15] add activity means either or, and you need to do this other thing so upload an image or upload, or we can do upload a video \[04 27] last thing i want to mention with these requirements is the approval method the approval method is always going to be set to automatic \[04 33] this means as soon as we pull their post in or if they upload something, they will automatically have completed that section of the campaign \[04 41] i always recommend keeping it on manual unless it's something easy like an instagram story that way you actually have to review their posts before you can, before they earn whatever the reward is or before they complete the campaign \[04 55] you can also make any of these challenges not required so for example, maybe you want them to do an instagram post or an instagram reel, but, uh, it's not required to upload an image or upload a video \[05 07] you can just turn this off and it means it will show up as optional in the campaign preview next, we have rewards \[05 14] as a reminder, you can reward in points you can reward in discount code if you have shopify, you can do an automated product reward \[05 22] if you do not have shopify, you can do a manual or custom reward then we have the style guide the style guide is just kind of what you want your ambassadors to do for the campaign \[05 33] it's kind of expanding on that so for this one, we have like an overall view you can key visual elements, any sort of messaging, and then a reminder of like tags that you can use \[05 43] the style guide can be as extensive as you would like, or as short as you would like mood board images, always optional \[05 51] most of these things are optional but if you want to include any inspiration pics, you can, and you can include these here \[05 57] campaign do's and don'ts, these are super important uhm, i would say if we're going to include any hashtags, at mentions, if you want the content to be live for a certain number of days, and then some brands have very specific, uh, you know, things that they want to make sure are not included in posts \[06 14] a lot of brands we work with are family brands, so no cussing, no drinking, no swearing, uh, no, no anything that doesn't fit into those family moral values \[06 24] same with don'ts it's like, you know, no mentioning any, uh, or featuring any competitors or products, uhm, and then anything else you don't want to see here \[06 32] lastly, terms and conditions terms and conditions are going to include, uhm, you know, that brand agreement you can turn these on, and then basically the ambassador will have to, uh, agree to those terms and conditions again before joining the campaign \[06 46] the last thing i want to mention is this preview page this allows you to see what the campaign looks like to the ambassador \[06 52] so once you have it all filled out, you can see the overview, the requirements we see that optional here, and then those specific guidelines, the style guides, and the do's and don'ts \[07 02] if you have any rewards, it's ambassadors edit the campaign overview to align with your brand tone and messaging highlight immediate perks, ambassador expectations, and joining instructions add sharing links and discount codes if smart links are not enabled use the link section to provide specific links for ambassadors to share create specialized discount codes for ambassador specific sales note non shopify users must manually import these codes set header image and custom properties choose or upload a header image (1200 x 600 pixels recommended) this can be a marketing image or your logo add custom properties for ambassadors to fill out before joining the campaign use manage properties to create additional custom properties establish campaign requirements select the types of social actions (e g , instagram post, tiktok video) ambassadors must complete choose add option to allow for interchangeable actions or add activity for required additional actions set approval method to manual or automatic recommend setting to manual to review posts before rewards toggle any challenge to optional if not mandatory for completion configure rewards and style guide decide on reward types such as points, discount codes, or product rewards use automated product rewards with shopify; else, opt for manual/custom rewards detail your style guide for visual elements, messaging, and required tags include mood board images and campaign do's and don'ts finalize terms and conditions and preview enable terms and conditions to require ambassador agreement before joining use the preview page to review the
