Link Facebook & Instagram in Meta Business Suite
4 min
linking your brand's instagram and facebook accounts within meta business suite is crucial for utilizing roster's social listening features and is a prerequisite to connect facebook & instagram docid 2 tcqvfmfeiol3y5izhcq within roster to ensure these social platforms are properly linked, there are specific steps that need to be followed, particularly due to meta's requirements below is a guide to help you achieve this setup video walkthrough video transcript this is a transcript from the loom video walkthrough \[00 02] hey, this is jeff at roster hey, i want to go over what it looks like to properly set up your instagram account with your facebook account for your brand \[00 10] this is something that is definitely required in order to be able to use roster's social listening features to create campaigns and actions that have social requirements \[00 20] so in a previous video i walked through how to come to your instagram integrations and go to the social profiles and connect your facebook and instagram accounts \[00 29] and in order to have them properly connected in roster, this is a requirement from meta you need to have a single facebook page connected to a single instagram profile and the instagram profile needs to be a professional account \[00 46] and then you can have multiple sets of these pages within roster each set of facebook page and instagram profile needs to be connected together in the meta business suite, which we'll look at in a minute \[00 59] and then you need to have, or whoever is going to do the connecting in here needs to be logged into a personal facebook account in the browser where they're going to, where they're going to click connect and they need to be a page admin on each of the pages that you want to pull in \[01 16] okay so the easiest way that we have found to make sure you have this set up correctly is to go to business facebook com this is known as the meta business suite and this allows you to have meta has basically set up this big you can have multiple portfolios \[01 38] most, most companies would have one portfolio that represents their company and then within that portfolio, you can have, um, multiple or excuse me, you can have a facebook page and instagram account connected \[01 52] so you can have multiples of these in here and i'm going to select this one right here, which i guess it's already selected \[01 59] so let me select it and when i come into here on the homepage, i see two icons or avatars, one for the facebook page that i'm managing that is connected to this business suite and one for the instagram account that is connected to this business suite \[02 17] so, by having those both connected right there, they are set up in a way that facebook then recognizes these as a connected pair \[02 28] and then when you come into roster and you provide access to your facebook page, it will pull in the instagram profile that it's connected to as well \[02 37] and that's a little bit confusing, but the most important thing to note is that you need to have both a facebook page and an instagram account in each of these little slots right here \[02 47] and i'm and if you don't, then you won't be able to connect them so, and when there aren't, um, when one or both of them are missing, you'll have the option of clicking on it to, uh, select the one that you want to connect to \[03 02] you can also do this directly from within side of facebook and you can also do this directly from within side of the instagram app \[03 11] when you come into this, within facebook, you'll need to get into your facebook page and that is different than your facebook profile \[03 19] so you'll need your facebook page no idea who that is cpage and this is where it gets really confusing so i would click on settings, see how long it takes me to find it \[03 34] it usually takes longer than it seems seems like it needs to page setup it's actually not the right place \[03 49] linked accounts this is what it's like doing this okay, there we go there's the instagram account that's connected \[04 00] so if i didn't do have an instagram account connected to my page, i wouldn't see that here, but i can come here and i can disconnect that \[04 06] and if i was to disconnect this instagram account from this facebook page and then come back to here and click refresh, then that instagram account would no longer be connected to this business suite \[04 19] it would just be gone okay so that's how you can do it from within side of a page instagram the profile, you actually have to be inside of a, don't quote me on this, but i'm pretty certain you have to be inside of the app to connect them \[04 34] um, you can click edit profile um, i also want to show you actually just one thing real quick a lot of times people get this meta account center confused with connecting their instagram their facebook page \[04 50] this meta account center is not the same thing so if you come into your meta account center and you see that you have both your instagram and your facebook connected and it's still not working, that it's not the same thing \[05 02] so just cause you have both of these connected here does not mean that you have them properly connected on the meta business suite \[05 08] so you definitely want to come to business facebook com and see both your facebook and instagram accounts connected uhm, and then lastly, just as i mentioned before, you need to be a admin on the page that you are \[05 25] let's see here page set up, maybe page access and this actually will take you, i think somewhere different part two \[05 36] oh, that does take you back to the meta business portfolio i think you have to come into settings here and then you can see people \[05 47] so, you need to ensure that if you're the one who's logged in, that you are connected to the page that is connected to the facebook business account \[06 00] the meta business suite so, i think if you drill into the page, you can see the page and then you can see right here, i have full control \[06 09] if you needed somebody else on your team to be an admin to the page, you can do that from right here \[06 15] i guess it's either assign people or, ah, it's just assign people and you can assign somebody and then that somebody would be able to log into their facebook account in the browser and then they would be able to come in a roster and click the connect button and it would prompt them to connect their \[06 30] page and their instagram account does it need to be that complex and confusing? no, but that's just the game that we all have to play because meta owns all of these and they determine how this all needs to be set up \[06 43] so, hopefully that helps somebody out there actually, hopefully nobody in the world ever has to watch this because that would be a really sad day, but we do get lots of people with, uhm, questions trying to connect \[06 54] so, we'll see maybe you're that lucky person have a nice day step by step instructions connect your facebook and instagram accounts via meta business suite navigate to meta business suite ensure your business has a single facebook page connected to a single instagram profile if not connected, follow the meta business suite prompts to connect them make sure that the instagram profile is a professional account (creator profile or business profile) understand the meta account center be aware that connecting accounts in meta account center is different from the meta business suite connection ensure both apps (facebook and instagram) are shown as connected in the meta business suite, rather than solely in the meta account center ensure page admin access verify you are an admin on the facebook page in the meta business suite, navigate to settings > accounts > pages confirm that necessary team members are assigned as page admins if they are to manage connections within roster
