video walkthrough video transcript this is a transcript from the loom video walkthrough \[00 00] hello everyone, in this video we are going to be doing a deep dive into channels within the community feature on roster \[00 06] channels help you organize conversations and keep things structured within your ambassador program you can create different channels for specific topics, like product launches, exclusive ambassador updates, or just maybe a general discussion channel \[00 20] setting one up is super easy go into the channels tab of the community feature here and select new channel right up here \[00 30] then it's going to pop open a place where you can give your channel a name so, for example, we could do, um, a product update channel \[00 40] we could give it a description, so, check out the latest updates here, something along those lines, let them know what this channel's about \[00 52] and then here we can select either an emoji, we can do one of the icons from roster, or you can choose to upload your own image, so, for example, a logo or something like that \[01 04] then you can also choose the background color as well, or enter in the number of your brand color the last thing you're going to see here bye bye \[01 12] is going to be who can post so by selecting team members, you're saying that just team members within roster can post, so that means any of your co workers or things like that \[01 22] ambassadors can still like and comment on posts, but they cannot create their own posts so this might make things a little bit more streamlined for things like updates, um, and things that you don't want to get buried by other ambassadors' posts \[01 36] if you select team members and participants, this opens the channel up that ambassadors can create their own posts so if you create a, you know, introduce yourself channel or something like that, this way ambassadors are now able to create their own posts as well \[01 52] then you're going to hit create here to look at your channel details again, you can check out this tab right here and adjust any of this \[01 59] thanks then within the channel participant tab here, you can choose either, um, adding entire programs or adding individuals maybe only specific members of a program will have access to the exclusive discount channel, something like that \[02 16] then you can invite only individuals we're adding by program, anyone that is included in a program or will be included in a program \[02 24] we'll have access to this channel so you can select auto add or again, select using that individual process then once you're ready, you can go up here and hit active \[02 36] this will now turn on the channel for the participants as well so now they can see it on their side \[02 42] it does not send any sort of notification, just turns it on as a view for them then here you can see a list of your channels, whether or not they are active, the participants in there, the total number of posts and comments, and then also the latest activity \[02 58] over here, you can choose to edit your channel again or create a new channel here and that's a little bit about the channels within roster \[03 10] continue on to learn a little bit more about roster creating different community posts and making sure some of those might be pinned \[03 16] thank you step by step instructions create a new channel navigate to the channels tab within the community feature click on new channel set up the channel details enter a name for the channel (e g , product update) provide a description for the channel, such as "check out the latest updates " choose an icon or upload your own image for representation select a background color or enter the brand color code set posting permissions decide who can post in the channel select team members if only team members can post, allowing ambassadors to like and comment select team members and participants to enable ambassadors to create posts manage channel participants open the channel participant tab add participants either by entire programs or individual selection use auto add for programs or manually select individuals activate the channel once the setup is complete, click on active to enable the channel for participants note that activation allows participants to view the channel without sending a notification review and edit channels access your list of channels to view activity status participant details total posts and comments latest activity edit existing channels or create new ones as needed need help? if you need any additional assistance with with your roster account, feel free to contact our support team at mailto\ support\@getroster com we're here to help!
