roster in this video, we're going to take a look at a specific type of discount rule in roster called a leak proof code 0 08 other videos about the shareable discount codes and reward codes can be found in this section, but for now, we're going to take a look at a special type called a leak proof codes 0 17 in the left hand margin here of this discount rules list page, you can see some icons and when you hover over them, they'll tell you what they mean 0 25 so this icon of a little link in a lock is for the leak proof code discount rule this rules a little bit 0 32 special and different compared to the shareable and reward codes it's not a code that will actually end up getting assigned to an ambassador for them to use outright 0 42 rather, it's a code that gets generated in real time when a customer uses an ambassador's smart link and when that smart link has been enabled with leak proof codes, this gives you a place to come in and view all the leak proof codes that have been generated that are linked to a specific program smart 0 59 link and to see how many there are and how many times they've been used in the revenue that is generated alongside those 1 06 one thing, it's important to keep in mind that, um, unlike the other types of codes where you might get, you know, like 20, uh, assigned friends and family code, and then you'll end up with like 300 uses 1 19 this will actually kind of be an inverse where you'll get lots and lots of leak proof codes that get generated over time 1 26 um, but not all of them will be used because not every single leak click is going to result in a conversion 1 32 and so you'll end up with far fewer uses and then roster as has a, uh, automated process that goes through and automatically deletes unused leak proof codes to keep those numbers in check 1 44 so from here, we can click on one of these leak proof codes and it brings us to the detail page where we get to see the list of all the leak proof codes that have 1 52 the leak generated when they were created, which ambassadors smart link they were created with, and how many, uh, how many of them have been used 2 00 and with leak proof codes, they're only allowed to be used once, so the uses count would only ever be one 2 07 you can do some addition additional things, like click on the details tab that will open up this little discount roll details drawer 2 15 from here, if this is a, if it's linked to your shopify store, then you'll be able to click view and shopify 2 22 and that will open you up to your shopify admin in the context of this leak proof code there's some important things to know about this 2 29 when you view the, uh, the discount code in shopify, all the codes will get created underneath this master discount code 2 37 shopify refers to them now as redeem so you can click on that and see all those redeem codes and there's a separate video that i'll point out later in the article where i'll go into the details of how you can come into one of these codes and further customize it with settings or options that might 2 55 not be available inside of roster you can see some additional metrics about the code there and of course, you can click edit discount rule and it will in the context of a leak proof code rather than bringing up the same edit discount rule 3 12 dialogue that you get with shareable codes and reward codes it will actually bring you all the way into your program settings where that leak proof code is linked to 3 20 and you can apply the, uhm, you can see what those settings are right here and make any necessary changes so, it does take you away to a different page, so you'll just need to click the back button on the browser to come back to your list of leak proof codes 3 36 umm, you can, of course, deactivate any of these codes if for some reason you need to deactivate them if you want to turn off leak proof codes, as an option at the program level, again, you'd go into that program's smart link page review the list of generated leakproof codes, including creation dates associated ambassador smart links usage metrics (e g , how many codes have been used) for shopify linked codes click view in shopify to open the discount rule in your shopify admin review all redeem codes created under the master discount code in shopify edit the leakproof discount rule click edit discount rule roster will redirect you to the program’s smart link settings where the leakproof code is configured update the settings as needed and return to the discount rules list monitor and manage leakproof codes use the metrics provided in the discount rule details to track the number of codes generated and used evaluate the revenue generated from leakproof codes download a csv file if needed for further analysis or
