Earning points in Roster is a great way to reward your ambassadors for their engagement without relying on direct payments. Ambassadors can earn points through referrals, completing actions, and joining campaigns—all of which help them reach milestones. You have the flexibility to assign points automatically or manually, making it easy to tailor your program to fit your goals.

## Step-by-step instructions

### Set up referral points

1. Navigate to `Program settings` and click on the `Referrals` tab.
2. Scroll down to `Referral points` to configure the settings.
3. Decide between offering a dollar amount commission, referral points, or both.
4. Choose between a fixed amount, percentage of sale, or tiered system for point allocation.
5. Use overrides to customize point distribution for specific cases.

### Award points for completing actions

1. Set up an action within the program.
2. Scroll down to `Reward points` to determine the point value for completing the action.
3. Decide whether to use a standard point value or customize it based on urgency or desired activity levels.
   - For example, Instagram Stories might be worth 10 to 15 points, while Instagram Reels could be 15 points.

### Allocate points for campaign participation

1. Set up a new campaign or edit an existing one.
2. Choose from different reward options, including points, at the campaign level.
3. Determine whether points will be awarded for joining, completing, or both.
   - Example: 50 points for joining, 50 points for completing, totaling 100 points.
4. Set the specific point value and click `Save`.
5. Points will be automatically distributed upon campaign completion.

### Manage point approval and view point records

1. Decide if referral points should be auto-approved or manually approved:
   - Auto-approval will apply points automatically when conditions are met.
   - Manual approval requires reviewing and manually approving points.
2. To view point records, go to the `Referral rewards` section.
3. Use the filter to select `Points` to focus on point values only.
