Public hashtag campaigns help you track @mentions and hashtags from public accounts, even if they’re not part of your ambassador program. This is a great way to expand your reach and see how people are engaging with your brand on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. To use this feature, you'll need the social listening add-on. If you're interested, reach out to support or your Customer Success Manager (CSM) for help. Follow the guide below to set up a public hashtag campaign in Roster.

## Step-by-step instructions

### Create a new campaign

1. Navigate to the `Campaigns` tab in the left-hand navigation menu.
2. Click on `New Campaign`.
3. Select `Create from scratch`.

### Select the campaign type

1. Choose `Public Hashtag Campaign` from the campaign options.
2. Select the platforms for your campaign: Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
3. Click `Create` to start setting up the campaign.

### Configure campaign details

1. Enter a name for your campaign, such as an ex-recruitment campaign.
2. Add internal notes for your reference or for team members.
3. Choose a start date and an end date for the campaign.
4. Click `Next` to proceed.

### Set up social listening parameters

1. Select the platform and specify the handle you want to listen to.
2. Enter the hashtag to be included in the campaign.
3. Optionally, add other platforms and use the same hashtag for consistency.
4. Mark any specific activities as required to track them closely.

### Review and enable the campaign

1. Review the campaign setup, especially the combination of at-mentions and hashtags for listening.
2. Remember, the system will automatically pull content based on your specified parameters from public accounts only.
3. Click `Finish` to activate the public hashtag campaign.
