Setting up and utilizing custom properties in Roster allows brands to collect specific information from ambassadors and manage data efficiently. These properties can be used in application forms, to filter contacts, or internally within the Roster platform. By customizing the information you collect, you can easily search and filter contacts based on custom properties, improving the ability to manage ambassadors effectively. This guide will walk you through accessing, creating, and managing custom properties in Roster.

 - `Multiple Choice` - The multiple choice property displays all the options in a list with radio buttons, much like a multiple choice test question. This is useful when there is a small number of options from which you want the user to select. Multiple choice properties can be used as filters on the Contacts Search page.
 - `Short Answer` - The short answer property allows the user to enter a value up to 50 characters in length. This is helpful when you want free-form but limited responses from users. Short answer properties can be used as filters on the Contacts Search page.
 - `Paragraph` - The paragraph property allows users to enter a value up to 1,000 characters in length. This type is useful when you need to collect a more detailed response from an applicant or ambassador. Paragraph properties **cannot** be used as filters on the Contacts Search page.

This is useful for when you want users to select from a long list, making the multiple choice less convenient. Drop down properties can be used as filters on the Contacts Search page.
